ROOST ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE CHEF ZACHARY LEEPPER
New Menu Debuts in October 2023
Roost, Downtown Greenville’s iconic restaurant at NOMA Square, announces the appointment of Chef Zachary Leepper as its new executive chef. Known for culinary creations that blend tradition and innovation, Chef Leepper is set to ignite Greenville’s foodie scene with expertly crafted dishes that showcase quality ingredients, vibrant flavors, creativity, and artistic presentation.
Chef Leepper’s distinguished culinary career spans more than two decades. This gifted chef worked under world-renowned Executive Chef Grant Achatz at Alinea in Chicago, IL, a James Beard award-winning and Michelin 3-star restaurant where he appeared in a Netflix production of Chef’s Table. He staged under Executive Chef Curtis Duffy at Chicago’s Michelin 3-star restaurant, Grace, and was Executive Chef at Danenberger Family Vineyards where he was also an assistant wine maker. His culinary talents then migrated south to Florida where he was Executive Chef at restaurants in Marco Island and Naples, including The Oyster Society and Fish Restaurant.

Chef Leepper rolls out a new, refreshed menu October 17, paying homage to traditional Roost fan favorites with new entrées destined to become Roost classics. Two new dishes include the Braised Pork Shank featuring Parmesan Risotto, Dark Spore Oyster Mushrooms and Red Wine Jus. The Panned Seared Scallops star truffle corn puree, elote, shaved Brussels, and Dark Spore crispy shitake mushrooms. Both signature dishes feature Dark Spore mushrooms, which are some of the freshest, gourmet mushrooms locally sourced in Piedmont, South Carolina.
